Summer Camp at Camp Fiesta Island

Are you currently signed up for a summer camp? If not, and you’re looking for a week filled with fun in the sun in beautiful Southern California, sign up for Camp Fiesta Island. There are lots and lots of exciting merit badges and activities such as dragon boating, nautical survival, and you can’t forget flying hull! But what if you’re not interested in aquatics? There are tons of non aquatic merit badges such as Citizenship in the Nation, Community and World, Emergency Preparedness and much more. If any of this caught your eye then Camp Fiesta Island is the place for you. Come and enjoy one of the finest summer camps on the West Coast! Space is limited, so sign up by Monday.

Yosemite camping recap

We had a great weekend of exploring in Yosemite National Park. On Saturday we drove up early and setup camp. In the afternoon we explored lower Yosemite Falls before following the loop trail to El Capitan Meadow and the Yosemite Chapel. Sunday we did a ranger led snowshoe hike in Badger Pass to Tempo Dome. The hike provided amazing views all the way to the Towalame Meadows area in Yosemite. In the evening we hiked around Mirror Lake and watched the sunset turn Half Dome bright orange. One Sunday we packed up and left the campground better than we found it, then drove to Mariposa Grove. There we explored the lower grove and visited the Grizzly Giant and the California Tunnel Tree. Overall we hiked 20 miles and look forward to our next trip at Three Falls for winter camp.

There’s a planning meeting on 1/12 and we’ll discuss how to keep warm and prevent cold weather injuries. View the Yosemite camping flyer  for all the details.
